Now that the racing is done for the season, I thought it would be a good idea to get some opinions and thoughts on the rules and such.
this would help get some ideas together to be discussed at the club meeting.
so lets hear about your little tweeks to major over haul.
but lets not have it turn into a bitch session.

my first thought would on the points system.
should a good finish againist 10 cars be worth the same as a good finish against 15 cars. I would think a finish against more cars should be worth more.
I wou ld propose that points be set according to the number of cars running that night.
if we have 15 cars at a race ,the win would be worth 15 pts. and drop 1 point per position with last place awarding 1 point.
but if we have say 11 cars show up, then the win is worth 11 pts. dropping 1 point per position again last place awarded 1 point. we could also offer a 3 point bonus for a win. this would help keep the points close all year.
thoughts ? pros/cons?

One that I would like to see is the option to run a beadlock on the RF and/or RR I know we dont roll many tires off the bead and they are a bit more pricey than the non-beadlock wheels but that is a safety issue and with the track conditions that the we run on sometimes isn't the greatest and 3400 lbs + rolling over on them has potential to be bad, also to add to the reason "possibly" running Georgetown next year with higher corner speeds.

thats a good point , and leaving it an option. then a guy does have to come up with cash or not race.
this might help some of the flat tire issues some have had.

I thimk the points are fine the way they are, If someone wins when 15 cars are present he should get the 100pts or whatever it is. If he wins when there is 20 cars he should get the same amount not be "penalized" because of a lower car count. As far as the beadlocks go, run a pressure that will lessen the chances of rolling a tire, in turn you will have to slow up in the corner to maintain handling. Leaving it an option will just help the ones who can afford it and hurt the ones who can't. I have been involved with the club since it was created and helped dad throught the years and now have taken over in a sense, most of the folks involved now can't say that and would be amazed at how much faster these cars are now compared to what they were. It was intended to be low budget, fun, racing, not $30,000 racing machines. In my opinion if much more "changes" are made I may as well get a crate mod. I'm not trying to piss off anyone but at the same time these are 50 year old frames with 20-30 yr. old front clips welded to them, you can only do so much within the realm of fun/affordable. If anything I'dl like to see it brought back to something similar to what it used to be. So the race can be decided on the driver as opposed to how big ones pocketbook is.

I think if there is any rule change with the wheels that we should be running a 10 inch wheel when you have the 305 tires on.............the manufacture recomends a 10 inch wheel for the tire......I run the tire and love it ....just want to use the right wheel before one of them do roll off and something bad happends.......just say n
